SAM Mouldings Gives Back To The Community
SAM Mouldings has donated £600 to the Neonatal Unit of the Antrim Area Hospital after raising the money through the company’s annual Christmas raffle. The unit was chosen by SAM employees, some of whom have had children cared for by the Neonatal Unit.
Sandra Rankin of the Neonatal Unit at Antrim Area Hospital expressed her delight at the generosity and community awareness of SAM employees in identifying the unit as a well deserved recipient of the donation. Sandra commented that the money raised by SAM Mouldings would go a long way in helping the hospital obtain new equipment and medicine it required when dealing with premature babies so that it may continue offering the level of service it is renowned for. Sandra, who is Ward Manager also went on to give an indication of the extent to which donations are so important to the unit, stating that incubators can cost in the region of £20,000 and breathing apparatus up to £11,000. Sandra explained that premature babies can stay in the ward from a few hours to a number of months, depending on the severity of their condition.

Grace McClean, Human Resource Manager at SAM Mouldings was more than happy to hand the cheque over to staff at the unit. Grace commented on the presentation, “I have nothing but the upmost respect and admiration for all the individuals who work in the Neonatal Unit. Their job requires so much dedication and patience dealing both with premature babies and the families of those children. We at SAM Mouldings hope that this donation can go some way in saying thank you for the fantastic work that they do”.
