Completion of Factory Extension at SAM Mouldings 2003

SAM Mouldings has once more increased its capacity for growth by adding a 7,000m2 extension to the purpose built factory which they took possession of only two years ago. The extension has doubled the size of the factory and ensures that SAM Mouldings is in a strong position for continuing to successfully increase their market share.

96% of its production is exported to mainland UK, ' faster and more cost-effectively than our competitors', said Managing Director Sam McCrea. 'We believe we have set new benchmarks in fulfilling orders in time and to a consistently high quality.'

At its 14,000 m2 factory SAM Mouldings also gives evidence of its commitment to the environment. It operates a unique energy recycling plant, which disposes of waste and generates energy. MDF sawdust waste is sucked into silos where it is compacted and fed into a state-of-the-art furnace, then incinerated at ultra high temperatures to remove toxic elements. The energy produced supplies over 40% of the factory's electricity. 'Since Northern Ireland electricity prices are the highest in Europe', Sam McCrea added, 'this is essential to keep overheads low.'
